Waypoint #2

You approach the coffee house. A sign outside advertises that the AG band is playing tonight. AG... Adam Greeley? Could he be the contact?

You walk in and glance around. Things are fairly quiet; the band must be on break. You go buy a coffee, and taking a seat you scan the room. It’s crowded and noisy, but you catch a snippet of a song being whistled. You look around for the source, and see a person in the corner whistling a jig. He has a drink in one hand, and in the other... is that a pocket KJV?

You start to walk over, when suddenly the lights go out. There are muffled exclamations around the room, and before you can react, you’re grabbed from behind and a miniature rugby ball is stuffed in your mouth. You try to yell, but the ball prevents it. You try to struggle, but it’s no good. Your arms are pinned by someone who’s obviously very strong, and you feel yourself being dragged through a doorway into another dark room.

You decide it’s useless to fight, so you stumble along, and the door closes behind you. The stranger halts, and then a bit of light suddenly appears under the crack of the door. The lights in the coffee house are back on, and the confused yells settle back to normal chatter. For a minute your captor holds you firm but doesn’t move or say a word. Then, you hear an exhale, as if in relief, and a small light flicks on.

"Sorry about that Shrubbery, but Adam is under cover, and you were just about to blow it. We had to move fast."
You look at the person standing next to you as he removes the ball from your mouth.
"Jonathan Allen?"
"Yup, good to see ya. But if you’ll excuse me, I gotta get back outside before someone notices both of us disappeared. Just wait here."
Jon slips through a small door and is gone. You look around, and realize you’re in a small storage room. You wait for about 15 minutes, but no one comes. Then you notice a sign above a small trap door that says "Secret Emergency Escape Route - Do Not Use!" Wow, this place has everything you think to yourself. You’ve always daydreamed about being a spy, almost captured by the enemy, and suddenly escaping by a secret passage. This is about as close an opportunity as you’ll ever get. What could it hurt to try it?
